today is vday or friendship day for us poor souls who aren't attached... haha I always say tt to my friends. Anyway in the mornin I exchanged presents with my angel n mortal. Bought a book/diary which i decorated, and a sling bag for my mortal huiling n a wallet for my angel yaozhen. Got wax n a shirt from huiling n yaozhen gave me a tube of chocolates... quite cheapo loh... but forget it, cuz the other time he bought me a pillow. Apart frm tt the rest of the day was typically boring except GP. Anyway after sch went coro to makan with samuel n a few cls girls. tok quite alot abt everythin b4 going home. Actually a good tok with my friends is a gd enuf friendship day pressie for me. After all it shld be spent with frens wad... and happy vday n friendship day to all my frens... you know who you are. =)

The stuff i write below is abit hard to comprehend, maybe becuz i inhale too much organic fumes durin chem prac and got a little high. GP we watched saving private ryan, and as WW2 is my specialty and interest, i for once felt more excited abt it. We watched the opening scene where the allies assualted omaha beach. Pretty bloody and gruesome. All the girls were lyk so shocked. I din even twitch an eyebrow, guess tt's becuz i watched it b4 and I noe tt this is merely the tip of the iceberg. Really, when someone mentions WW2 all that comes to some ppl's mind is oh, its another war. They nvr realli realise how horrible it was, how much sacrifice our ancestors made to buy us this freedom.It makes it seem as if freedom and peace is taken for granted. Kids nowadays always tok abt killing, possibly due to computer games influence. Dey can boast abt how pro dey are at fragging others in games lyk CS. But realli, how many people have actually experienced war and know how it is like? How many people really know what it is like to see you fellow soldiers perish before your eyes? How many people actually know what it is like to hold a rifle and shoot and kill others? Young ppl lyk us nowadays noe nuts abt the past, nuthin abt the horrors past. Hu noes abt Malmedy, Omaha, Stalingrad, death railway or Bataan death march? Speakin of which, today is the 60th anniv of the bombing of dresden, a beautiful german city which was reduced to rubble by allied bombers. Late in 1944 n early 1945, allied bombers often bombed german cities, often hittin residential areas and kililng innocent civillians. Dresden was no different. The parts of the city destroyed were mostly residential areas and not industrail. So dun say the allies dun commit atrocities, every army does. Its juz a matter of who wins and get to trial those culprits. I think dresden incured about a few hundred thousand civillian casualties on this day, 60 years ago exactly.
