Coincidences.

The past few days have been so eventful. On friday I met up with my army buddies for some tennis and supper. Although it was nice seeing them again, I didn't really only the tennis game. Firstly, I'm a very lousy player. Secondly, my wrist hurts like hell. The pain has been going on and off for a few months already. Hope its nothing serious. Sometimes I find life to be full of coincidences. On thursday I was just chatting with this friend whom I have not seen in a while on MSN, and the very next day I met him after my tennis game while going home on the MRT. In the next two days there are even more such coincidences.

On saturday went for bball game with the tchs wushu ppl adn chinese high. Not exactly too good in bball, but probably better than tennis. But it was fun. As I walked through the school which I spent 4 years in, I kinda realised it is quite a beautiful campus. Plenty of greenery and peaceful.(prob cuz it was a weekend) Not much has changed though, apart from some new buildings that have sprout out over the old hostel site. However the school is so big so there are other parts that could have changed without me noticing.

After bball those of us who were also from hc wushu ( jo, glen, tsejian) headed down to PS to watched enchanted with some other hc wushu ppl. Its a movie about fairy tales. Nice as it is, its just a fairy tale. And rarely do fairy tales happen in rea life. So I'd say the movie was great entertainment, but no much take home value. It was pretty funny though, and the songs were quite nice. Anyway after that we went for some board games at minds cafe. It was nice meeting up with the wushu ppl. Muz thank joseph for organising it. And now on to the 2nd coincidence. It turns out the sister of one of my juniors is also studying vet, and she apparently volunteered at the same vet clinic last time.

Today din start off so well, but it got on great. in the mornin went to vet clinic to volunteer as usual, then in the evening met up with the 04s75 ppl. I was supposed to be the organiser. honestly if thats the case then i prob din do a good job. the place we were gonna eat was closed! probably not too bad since richmond n aloy teo thinks the place is too girly. in the end we had to settle for The American Diner by billy bombers at bugis. Bad choice though. Food was ex, portions were small. But on the bright side, tt means I didn't eat much and probably wun get fat so easily. Anyway we had a great time talking though. It was nice catching up with everyone's latest news and gossips. Hope we'll meet again soon! And now on to the 3rd and 4th coincidence. We initially decided to eat at minds cafe, though a diff branch from yesterdays. How coincidental eh? The 4th one was this pri sch fren whom I recently talked to on facebook. Turns out one of my jc classmate knows him too and just today she asked me about him. Maybe its not coincidence. Its just that the world is a small place.

Melbourne part 2

Anyway, on with the trip. I also travelled the great ocean road. It was fantastic. There was amazing and gorgeous scenery all the way along the coast. It would be amazing to own one of those houses by the coast and wake up every morning to the sounds of ocean. That would be awesome. The beaches there are far more beautiful than the ones we have here in Singapore. Its not something I see everyday. Can't wait to go back there some day.

Also visited the vet clinic at weribee. The head of department was so nice, he took us around to have a tour of the facilities. I'm impressed. They really have alot of state of the art equipment and modern facilities. CT scanners, digital xrays, treadmils to run ECGs, the ICU, the oncology ward, the OR, the teaching facilities, it was just so well equiped. I definately look forward to studying there.

Overall this whole trip was very useful. Really got to know Melbourne much better. Much more familar with the public transport, the culture and the people. I'll look forward to living there definately.

I just went back to camp yesterday to get my certificate of service. It was nice catching up with everyone in camp. Getting that cert also means a chapter of my life has closed and I'm moving on, moving on to a exciting and enriching one. Feb 17th 2008. can't wait!

Loving Melbourne

So much has happened since last week! Been to Melbourne and back, and it was a very fruitful trip. Got quite alot of stuff done and also had plenty of time to explore Melbourne and some of its suburbs.

The general impression I get of Melbourne is that is a pleasant city. Fine weather, though abit erratic, friendly and helpful people, efficient and easy-to navigate public transport, great variety of food, and lastly very beautiful! No wonder its been voted the most livable city a few times. There are some minus points though... expensive food and lots of flies. Nobody ever told me there will be THAT many flies in Melbourne. They are extrememly annoying due to their SHEER numbers. But I heard they are only active in summer so I'm hoping thats true.

Anyway back to the plus points. I just wanna talk about the beauty. Its beautiful, especially the suburbs. Granted some suburbs to kinda ugly, but most of those I went to were gorgeous. I don't realli know how to describe it, but its just now lyk the houses in singapore. The plots are larger, meaning you can have a large house and yet still have enough space for a pretty garden and a garage.

Visited the college where I will be staying and again its beautiful too... so much greenery and very serence. Seems lyk a great place to stay. Its abit ex though...

Pretty tired out still so I'll talk about the rest of the trip probably tmr.
